Source: Only U.S. can help on Polish property

Only intervention by the U.S. government can effect a breakthrough on
the issue of restitution of Jewish property in Poland, political sources
said yesterday, in response to a report on Polish Jewish property that
was prepared for the ministerial committee for restitution of Jewish assets.
The report, first reported in Haaretz yesterday, states that assets
stolen from Polish Jews in World War II are valued at more than $30
billion. However, the editors of the report said, only a small fraction
of owners of the assets are likely to be found, since more than 90
percent of Polish Jewry was murdered in the Holocaust.

Political sources in Jerusalem said the Israeli government does not have
the ability to influence Poland effectively, and that trying to do so
would damage ties with the country.

Rivka Kanarek, media advisor to Minister Natan Sharansky who heads the
committee, said that the report has not yet been submitted to the
committee, and that no government forum has yet defined its policy
regarding restitution of the assets of Polish Jews.

Ryfka Kanarek powinna doradzic swemu ministrowi Szaranskiemu, ze wyrwac
pierzyne jedwabna spod dupy Odrzanskiego byloby latwo. Sam odda jak go
buldogiem amerykanskim poszczuc. Ale wyrwac 30 miliardow dolarow POlsce?

Przeciez dlug zaciagniety przez Gierka i komune jeszcze nie splacony.
Co by powiedzial na to Klub Paryski, klub panstw, wierzycieli wobec
naszego kraju? Oni tam siedza i licza golabki jakie im splywac zaczely
do gabki. Przeciez Leszek Balcerowicz nie jest glupi. Jako szef NBP na
pewno spowodowal on, ze niedawne wzmocnienie zlotego odbilo sie
korzystnie na tempie splat polskiego dlugu. I tak trzymac!

No ale jesli dojdzie do najgorszego, do rozpetania kampanii pko Polsce a
la casus Szwajcaria to Ryfka Kanarek powinna zwrocic swemu ministrowi
uwage, ze Polska ma teraz doskonale stosunki z Ukraina. A ta, wiadomo,
jest nastepnym krajem do odstrzalu przez rzad Izraela. Babi Jar,
Trawniki itp, ma sie te szkielety w szafie. No i Ukraina posiada jeszcze
chyba nieco broni atomowej? Produkuje rakiety dalekiego zasiegu?
No wlasnie, rozumiemy sie chyba bez slow, pani Ryfka?
